AIG reinforces its Financial Lines team in the
Germany-Austria-Switzerland region

We significantly expanded our already experienced service team in Germany, Austria and Switzerland in 2016 and are now proud to offer current and potential future clients in these countries enhanced support service regarding the Financial Lines product range. The particular focus placed on Mergers & Acquisitions, Cyber, and Professional Liability Insurance has enabled us to develop and offer Financial Lines solutions tailored specifically to meet the very different needs of our clients.

The Financial Lines range of products now features five separate areas of competence, which are Management Liability (D&O)/Crime, Financial Institutions, Cyber/Professional Indemnity, Mergers & Acquisitions and Portfolio Solutions. Nine additional Financial Lines specialists have joined the Munich office team, while the Hamburg-based team has been expanded to three specialists. AIG’s Financial Lines business now employs more than 50 people in the Germany Austria Switzerland region spread across the Frankfurt, Hamburg, Munich, Zurich, and Geneva offices.

“The expansion and concentration of our teams across five locations allows us to offer individualized and even further enhanced support for clients in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland,” explained Nepomuk Loesti, Head of Liabilities and Financial Lines for the Germany Austria Switzerland region, noting that, “by introducing the newly created Portfolio Solutions product range, AIG has placed an additional emphasis on efficient and digitalized portfolio management in the SME segment together with our brokerage partners.”

Aside from the financial security aspect offered by an insurance policy, we also create significant added value for our clients as concerns the search for risk management solutions tailored to their individual needs.

We plan to make further investments in the area of Cyber Risk Engineering in 2017 as well as investments in traditional segments such as professional liability insurance for registered professions, which we began offering in Germany in mid 2016 based on the date of loss occurrence principle.
